Effect of Integrated Weed Management Practices on, Yield and Yield Components of Bread Wheat (Triticum aestivum L. Var) at Siya Debirina Wayu district Deneba North Shewa, Central Ethiopia

- Field experiments were conducted at Siya Debirina Wayu district on deneba North Shewa to study evaluating the efficacy of seems herbicides and their combinations in controlling weeds of bread wheat and to assess the economic feasibility of the tested herbicides in controlling weeds of wheat at Siya Debirina Wayu district on deneba North Shewa during 2017 main cropping season. The treatments were , Viz; Clodinafop-propargyl1.0 L ha-1, 1.5 L ha-1, 2.0 L ha-1), Tribenuron-methyl) (15 gm ha-1, 20 gm ha-1, 25gm ha-1), Clodinafop–propargyl 1.0 L ha-1 + Tribenuron-methyl 15 gm ha-1, Clodinafop-propargyl 1.0 L ha-1 + Tribenuron-methyl 20 gm ha-1, Clodinafop-propargyl 1.5 L ha-1 + Tribenuron-methyl 10 gm ha-1, Clodinafop-propargyl 1.5L ha-1+ Tribenuron-methyl 15gm ha-1, Clodinafop-propargyl 1.0 L ha-1 + hand weeding and hoeing at 35 DAE, Tribenuron-methyl 15 gm ha-1+ hand weeding and hoeing at 35 DAE, One hand weeding and hoeing at two weeks after crop emergence, two hand weeding and hoeing at two and five weeks after crop emergence, Weed free check, Weedy check. The experiment was conducted using Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) in three replications. The flora in the experimental fields indicated that the weeds belonged to 10 families. Significantly the lowest density of broadleaved weeds was recorded in weed free check followed by combinations of Clodinafop-propargyl at 1.5L ha-1+ Tribenuron-methyl at 15g ha-1. The highest number of productive tillers was recorded from the complete weed free plots followed by the Clodinafop-propargyl at 1.5L ha-1+ Tribenuron-methyl at 15g ha-1. The highest number of seeds per spike were recorded from weed free and Clodinafop-propargyl at 1.5 L ha-1 + Tribenuron-methyl at 15g ha-1. The maximum thousand grain weight (55.4 gm) was recorded from the weed free check followed by Clodinafop-propargyl at 1.5 L ha-1 + Tribenuron-methyl at 15g ha-1 and Clodinafop-propargyl 1.0 Lha-1+ Tribenuron-methyl 20 g ha-1. The highest grain yield was recorded in complete weed free check followed by Clodinafop-propargyl at 1.5L ha-1+ Tribenuron-methyl at 15g ha-1. The Maximum harvest index was recorded weed free followed by Clodinafop-propargyl 1.5 L ha-1 + Tribenuron-methyl 15g ha-1(49 %). The study revealed that recommendation weed free check and their combination with Clodinafop-propargyl at 1.5 L ha-1 + Tribenuron-methyl at 15g ha-1 sprayed respectively had very high significant effect on all growth parameters in this study area. To verify and recommend for further, research should be repeated at different agro ecological area and at different season.
