- Abstract:
- The purpose of this study is to investigate the usability of mixed wastewater (domestic, textile and milk) in cyanobacteria Chroococcus turgidus (Kützing, 1849) culture. The mixed wastewater used in this study was made with wastewater taken from four different points of the treatment plant (raw wastewater, equalization tank effluent, activated sludge effluent and effluent). The experiments were carried out in a batch culture system, in 1, 5 L bottles and triplicates. Chlorophyll based microalgae growth and changes in specific growth rates were investigated. According to the results obtained, the species were adapted well to all the mixed wastewater taken from four different points of wastewater treatment plant. The highest specific growth rate of C. turgidus was obtained from the wastewater plant effluent (E) (p
