Abstract:
The present study was conducted from July 2012 to September 2012 to determine the prevalence of GIT Equine strongyles in kelela woreda of four kebeles namely, Tritra, Shafi, Kobi and Degorach using simple floatation test. A total of 384 equine spp. were included in the present study 137 mules, 182 Donkeys, and 65 Horses in kelela woreda. Out of 384 fecal samples examined 75.9% Mule, 47.7% Horse, and 68.1%to be positive for equine strongylosis. A significant difference were observed (p0.05) .It is totally suggested that strategic parasitic control program should be design with regular evaluation to efficacy of the drugs used against GIT equine stronglosis.
